VistaGlass 1.2 FreeDownload

Just like in Windows XP, the ability to make use of custom themes in Windows Vista is limited. There is however a convenient way to unlock the ability to make use of custom themes in Windows Vista. All you need is the free program Vista Glazz from the developer Code Gazer which, when executed, unlocks the ability to make use of custom themes & also changes the Vista Aero theme to make use of the Glass effect on maximized windows as well.
The program fundamentally patches several core process files that block the installation of unsigned themes on Windows Vista.

VistaGlass 1.2 version This is app is very simple, but performs an essential & possibly complicated task for Windows Vista customizes. It patches several DLLs that control Vista's appearance so that users can fine-tune Vista to their liking. It is also freeware, making it a viable workaround for those who need to tweak Vista but don't need to pay for it. It also changes Aero so that it stays in effect on maximized screens.
There is not much else to the program. It absolutely won't work with Vista Service Pack one Release Candidates. In case you install Vista Glazz before removing the SP1 RC, basically uninstall the app & then SP1, & then reinstall the program. The interface is basic, there's no skins provided, & the EULA gives off the vague stench of unfounded fear.

Nevertheless, if you are looking for a simple solution to a feasible nightmare, Vista Glazz may be the first step you'll need to take to up Vista the way you need.
Since then World of Warcraft & Crysis are no longer the sole users of your video card. The new Aero interface depends on your GPU for a new look with customizable colors & transparency.
Unfortunately as in Windows XP, custom styles are not supported by the process. Programs like Window Blinds offer a workaround but degrade performance. VistaGlazz provides a solution.
Transparency stays when maximized
If your video card is DirectX9 certified & Windows Aero is activated you notice the new transparency look. Normally in Windows Vista, the transparency only lasts until you maximize a window. VistaGlazz ensures transparency, even when your windows are maximized.
Custom visual styles
The new Desktop Windows Manager in Windows Vista only allows visual styles created by Microsoft. Creative minds on sites like Deviant Art generate cursors, icons, wallpapers & themes. After using VistaGlazz you can now use custom styles as well.
